More Parties

Here are some more educational parties that kids will enjoy.

Music Party

A music party hits the right note as you play instruments, sing, and listen to music.

Book Party

A book party can be themed after a favorite children's book.

Charity Party

A charity party is a great way to have fun and help others. It can be themed on giving back by volunteering or putting together donations. Choose a charity that your children are interested in supporting such as an animal shelter if your children like animals, or an organization that helps children. Then contact the charity to find out what they need. Ask guests to make a donation to a charity in lieu of a gift. For example, you could ask guests to bring canned food for a food bank or unwanted clothes, toys, or books for a charity. At the party, you could make cards for children at a children's hospital.

Carnival Party

Set up your own carnival. Have face painting. Have snacks like corn dogs, popcorn, soft pretzels, and cotton candy. Play carnival games.

Ring toss: cut out the center of paper plates to make rings. Use a paper towel tube for the peg. Players throw rings and try to get them to land around the peg.

Balloon dart game: attach balloons to a cardboard box and players try to pop the balloons with darts that are sharpened wooden cooking skewers.

Can pyramid: stack empty cans in a pyramid shape on a table and players throw tennis balls at the pyramid and try to knock them over.

Lucky duck game: pick rubber ducks out of a large container of water and players win a prize according to the number on the bottom of the duck.

Bucket toss: stand in front of 3 buckets lined behind each other and try and throw bean bags into the buckets starting at the closest and progressing to the furthest away.

Magnetic fishing game: use paper fish with paper clips and use a stick with a string and magnet to catch fish.

Olympics Party

Olympics is an international sports event that began in ancient Greece. Make your own flags for several different countries for decorations. The Olympic symbol is five interlaced rings of the colors blue, yellow, black, green and red. It represents the five continents of the world, united by the Olympics. Make the Olympic rings symbol by cutting out the center of paper plates to make rings and color them. For opening ceremonies, make a torch out of rolled paper with red and yellow tissue paper flames sticking out. Take turns passing the torch around. Make your own medals by cutting circles out of cardboard and coloring them gold, silver, and bronze. Poke a hole through the medals and tie yarn through them to make necklaces. Have races, hurdles (set up an obstacle course where you have to jump over something), relays (each person runs a lap around the yard and then passes off the baton to the next runner), and discus (see who throws a Frisbee the farthest). Prepare international food to represent some of the different countries that participate in the Olympics. Make gold medal peanut butter cookies.
